Luca ~ 18 Months ~ Harrisonburg Virginia Children's Photographer

As summer is coming to an end so are the super expensive air conditioning bills, sweat, mosquitoes and impromptu playdates with slides, sand boxes, and kiddie pools. Luca lives just down the street from me. I can actually walk to his house, I tend to drive because of the smoldering humidity and blistering Virginia summer heat or because I am kinda lazy. Either way Luca lives close. No I am not that lazy, I swear! Anyhow, Luca's mom and I are in a playgroup together and we met almost a year ago at a little jamboree in the park close to our houses. Yes, I got out the old red guitar and played Old MacDonald for some of my favorite kiddos. Luca was not even one year old, back when I first met him.

So fast forward about a year and now Luca's mom is one of my favorite people. EVER. No really she is totally awesome. For instance this one time when my husband was out of town and what I refer to as "the plague" hit our house. Melinda brought food so my kids wouldn't starve, while their mommy was super sick. Then when  it was time for my daughter's 3rd birthday party....I had no time to get the balloons. In a tizzy I call Melinda and again she came to my rescue. The 24 balloons wouldn't fit in her car but with the help of a friendly lady....my daughter had balloons. (thank goodness!!)

So now Luca is 18 months old and this blog post is long overdue. However, I am pretty excited for them to FINALLY see their finished product. I am also pretty excited that I was able to snag some pretty classic Luca shots! He is seriously the awesomest little guy!

Thanks so much for being such an awesome friend Melinda! You are the best!! And I hope you LOVE your photos!!!  MUAH!!!

Kinley and Tatum ~ One Year ~ July 2012 ~ Harrisonburg Virginia Photographer

I met Tatum and Kinley and their mommy and daddy last year. The girls were just about 2 months old, I remember leaving their house that evening wondering how in the world it was even possible to have 2 newborns. As I was fresh out of the newborn stage with my youngest, I was baffled at how it was logistically possible to have not just one, but 2 babies....that don't sleep, and not just one but 2 babies that needed mommy and daddy for everything. Well I remembered that one saying "God doesn't give you more then you can handle", and I knew that the Kibler's must be a strong couple and all I could do was admire how they methodically began their journey to whatever the new "normal" would be.

These two girls are the cutest, sweetest and funniest little girls and it has been such a blessing to be able to watch them grow over the past year. They both have such beautiful smiles and they love love love when their mom sings funny little songs to them. Anyhow, here are some photos from the twins one year shoot, which took place in Harrisonburg, VA.

Tenley ~ July 2012 ~ Harrisonburg Virginia Baby Photographer

July has been one of the craziest months to date. I am sitting here trying to catch up on editing, blogging and just life itself. Tenley has a special place in my heart as she is one of my beloved cousins. Well she is my cousin's daughter, so in essence she is my cousin and that is what I call her. Tenley and her mommy came to Harrisonburg one Sunday morning in July and I had the greatest time photographing them. I have been photographing Tenley since she was just a bump in her Mom's belly, then a newborn, 4 months and now she is 8 months old! I love doing baby's first year shoots, because I get to watch them grow and grow. Here are some photos from Tenley's 8 month photo session. These were taken at the Arboretum in Harrisonburg.

The Woodards ~ Swoope Virginia Family Photographer ~ July 15, 2012

Things have been busy busy here at the Scott household and as I am trying to play catch up on all my cutie pies I had sessions with the past month. Anyhow, Carter turned one this past July and I had the opportunity to photograph him with his family, at his Grandmother's house. The house is beautiful stone and was built in 1776. It truly was a photographer's dream. Plus Grandmother had so many awesome vintage props that we got to play with. I loved all the animals that were out on the farm. If I could shoot every single session I did at this property it would never get old. I went to high school with Carter's mommy, and it was awesome to see her and meet her family. Here are a few photos from our session, I hope you enjoy!!
